What is hardscape?

Hardscape is an industry term referring to pavers, retaining walls, columns, etc. This does not include landscaping. Landscaping is considered softscape.

What is a paver?

Pavers are tightly fitted, uniform units placed over a sanded and compacted aggregate base. Pavers are immediately ready for use. Stained or broken pavers can be easily replaced without patches, unlike poured or stamped concrete.

Types of pavers:
Concrete: Concrete pavers are most often used for exterior landscaping. They are typically used for driveways, walkways, patios, pool decks, and outdoor living areas. These pavers are made to withstand all forms of weather and vary in size, shape, and color.

Clay: Clay pavers are made from high quality ceramic shale. Because these pavers are formed then fired at high temperatures, they become a strong, heat, and water-resistant product with traditional appeal.

Old Chicago Brick: This form of paver is actual clay brick reclaimed from turn-of-the-century buildings in cities like Chicago and Detroit.

Marble and Travertine: Marble and Travertine are natural stone, mined from sedimentary rock, not formed in a factory. For this reason, no two pieces of marble or travertine are alike. Veining is a natural characteristic of the material. There are many benefits of using these natural stones.
